The Reluctant Explorers' winter picnics
It can be hard to get outside in the cold weather but imagining watching a breath-taking winter sunset with a warming flask in hand is enough to make the cold toes worth it! The Reluctant Explorers know better than anyone that winter is not the time to abandon the outdoors. Birthday picnic walk
Guy's lucky enough to have his birthday in July. The weather is normally glorious and we try to be somewhere nice for it. This year, like many years, we were in Dartmoor. It was the perfect day for a picnic walk. We parked up at Postbridge and walked along the tin miners path to East Dart waterfalls. The walk has glorious views, wild flowers, ponies and stepping stones, finishing up at a wonderful pool for wild swimming and a picnic. . .

Picnicking is a way of life
Our kids aren't great fans of swanky restaurants, up tight cafes and upmarket cake shops. They like to picinc. That's what we're used to. It's a much cheaper way to feed a family. And, better than that, it allows the freedom to roam and muck about outdoors. No rules or regulations. Every picnic is a mini adventure. Walking to a picnic spot gives a destination to a walk. It's a great way of creating your own meal time experience, eating a meal together in the most amazing spots. Picnicking is far more than just a picnic, it's a way of life.
