National picnic week 2020
This year, National Picnic Week is 22-28 June. So grab your PACMATs and get outdoors for a good old picnic. We kicked off the week with a father's day family picnic walk in Ashdown Forest, Sussex. A wonderful place with far reaching, refreshing views. The kids and dogs especially had a great time, walking, splashing, jumping and nature trailing (the dogs had to be kept on leads near livestock, of course). Picnic with Mercure went off in true British style. Not to be put off by the rain, we had a smashing day. Giant tea cups, tea pot and Jenga filled the square of Somerset House. While we were entertained by the masters of wine, Susie & Peter. Even Jonathan Ross was there.
National picnic week at Somerset House
Mecure Hotels celebrates National Picnic Week with Somerset House event. Taking place on 17 June, the event will feature bespoke picnic hampers created by Tom’s Kitchen, featuring homemade baguettes, classics like scotch eggs and desserts. There will also be wine tastings with experts Susie Barrie and Peter Richards, from BBC1’S Saturday Kitchen, live entertainment from acapella group AfterParty and giant board games. Read more here.
