Exploring the Alps -

Enjoying their time together, (before the rest of the family arrived), Basil and Guy went for a 20km jaunt up from the small commune of La Palud where the old Funivie Monte Bianco station used to be just outside Courmeyeur. They worked their way up steep winding paths to join the TMB and joined the trail in peak season. Not so busy they couldn’t keep a nice distance from other travellers they followed the path to the Refugio Bonatti, stopping for a picnic lunch on a small grassy knoll with spectacular views views of Mont Blanc and the Grande Jorrasses.    As they came...

Camping, Exploring the Alps -

Arriving a week before the rest of the family arrived to have some quiet time in the mountains whilst working from home. Guy and Basil (our dog) thought they'd make the most of the weekend.Guy packed a bag. We arrived in the lovely village of Firle, parked up and went to the wonderful village store for picnic supplies. Walking up through the village from here we passed a fabulous wild flower verge. Taking a footpath running alongside the wheat field. From here we could see the hill we were heading for, hoping to have our picnic up on the top.  With each step we got a better look back at the view behind us, stretching for miles. Exploring London -

The weather here in East London has been wonderful this week. Not too hot, no rain and with a gentle breeze. We thought we'd make the most of it and head out to the park for lunch. It's always great to get away from the desk and outside for a break during the working day. A couple of PACMATs and a bottle of water in the bag, we headed down to pick up a (massive) sandwich on the way from Bread & Truffle and then went on to London Fields to find a suitable spot to picnic.  Basil always like to stay close...

Exploring Snowdonia -

Our first day at the cottage, near Dolgellau.Family Norway were delayed on their journey, so we spent the first night at the cottage as just the three of us and Basil. The others finally arrived around lunch time and  although the grounds of the cottage were wonderful to explore we all ready to head out for a walk.
