I'm often asked what a Londoner would recommend for visitors to do in London. It's hard to know where to start. There are just so many things to do... and I might be a little Hackney-centric, but here are some of my favourites. London can be very tiring, covering a lot of ground. Up and down escalators, hopping on and off buses and pounding the pavements for miles. Plan your days well so you're not trekking back and forth. It's a big city and travel within it can add up. Skiing -

How many pastries do you ski tour with? Grand Montets, Chamonix, France. Mid Easter holidays, the forecast for Easter Monday looked perfect for an adventure. Our group's experience of skinning up (walking up hill on the snow on skis or split boards) varied from none at all to very experienced indeed. The route planned was to get the Bochard gondola up at Grand Montets and walk up and over to what used to be Point de Vue (a ski run named for it's fantastic view of the glacier, but not open since the lift station burnt down a few years ago). A joint birthday celebration, a 19th and a 60th. We went to join my sister who lives not far from Oslo for the weekend. Of course, a weekend away for us has to include at least a picnic or two! We arrived late on the Friday night. We woke up on Saturday to glorious weather. Fresh snow on the ground, blue skies and sunshine.
