Up to one of our favourites... for a picnic!
Another hot day out on the moor. Having walked Hambeldown the day before, we set off in the opposite direction toward Easden Tor. A short stroll along the road led us to a turn up the hill, where we passed by beautiful hedgerows and took a right-hand path that climbed steadily, through a gate and out onto open moorland.
As we followed the path upward, Moss the whippet made the occasional leap over thick gorse bushes. Eventually, we reached the tor, where we found a small, sheltered spot—perfect for a picnic.

After a restful stop, we picked up a wide, grassy path that gently descended, offering distant views of Haytor on the horizon. At a fork, we veered right and continued downhill, following a stone wall and joining a track at the bottom. Along the way, we passed plenty of inquisitive sheep. Moss stayed on a short lead, taking it all in calmly.

The path eventually brought us back to the road, and we made our way to the farm once more, taking time to admire the hedgerows as we walked.
Once back, we gave Moss a thorough check for ticks—and ourselves too—just to be safe after a day out.
